RUAPEHU ART AWARDS
2025
Welcome to the 2024 Waimarino Art Awards!
Last year’s awards were a great success, so here we go again!
New categories have been added which will give a different look to the whole exhibition. Maybe we will get enough fashion entries to have a catwalk show on Opening Night. Artists, near and far, please feel welcome to enter.
Check out last year's Premium Award winning painting by Michael Barker below.
The Waimarino Art Awards are run by the Raetihi Promotions Charitable Trust.

The Waimarino Art Awards have run annually for many years now, coordinated by a series of dedicated art-lovers in the twin towns of Raetihi and Ohakune, within the Waimarino area. The Raetihi Promotions Charitable Trust is the governing body. The main aims of the Waimarino Art Awards are to celebrate our local artists. Our artists and makers also welcome the work of artists from the rest of the country. It is a challenge, but heart-warming to see what people outside our area are up to. As well as our artists, we are lucky to have sculptors, potters, glass artists, fabric artists, carvers, weavers, quilters, like the rest of New Zealand. Once a year, though, we put Raetihi at the centre of the universe, and show these off at the Waimarino Art Awards.
